Sip & See

We had such a great weekend at the lake! Mom & Dad hosted a Sip & See for Sylvie so that several of our Auburn/lake friends could meet her. Sylvie was a doll and cousin Bailey didn't mind showing off her new tutu, either! Here are a few shots from the weekend. I'm so grateful Dad and Carey take pictures for me...I get so distracted I forget to pick up the camera!

Ok, here we are again. But really, how cute is my child??

I started a mom's group in Andalusia and we had our first playdate today. I think it's a Godsend...we are planning weekly outings to stay sane, socialize our kiddos and basically just have fun. Advice and opinions are free of charge...it's so nice to be able to bounce concerns and ideas off of other new mommies!

Parrish and I celebrate our 4th anniversary next week...time FLIES!!!

Snow Day 2010

South Alabama had a winter treat last week...real snow! Andalusia hasn't seen the white stuff since 1993, so needless to say, we were out in full force enjoying the rare weather. I think Parrish tracked it on the weather channel all night, and was up EARLY Friday morning to check it out. Luckily he had the day off...how else would he have made 2 snowmen, trudged in the woods, slid down the hill, taken 100 pictures, driven around town and bundled Sylvie up twice to show her the snow? It is fun living with a big kid, let me tell you. Oh yeah, Sylvie had fun too.

It snowed pretty much all day! After homemade waffles, we bundled up and headed outside.

Can you believe we actually made them sit in this tiny chair in the snow? We are sadistic parents, apparently. (This is Sylvie's friend Bella who lives across the street and is 6 days younger than Sylvie, but about 2 pounds heavier).

Here is our snowman. Why do I look like a nun and Sylvie looks like the kid in "A Christmas Story" (you'll shoot your eye out)?

We had a great 3-day weekend with Daddy, and a very Happy Valentine's Day. Who knew the florist would brave the weather to deliver me the most beautiful tulips from my sweet husband?

Here is a photo of Sylvie eating for the first time. She must like the feeling of slime on her chin. Applesauce, not so much. Bananas? Mmmmmm.

We hope you're all doing well...maybe winter is slowly going to turn into spring (Sylvie really hopes so...she already has a swimsuit and sunglasses and is ready to get to the pool).

Sylvie is busy learning lots of new tricks. She is wanting to sit up by herself more and more, and we're happy to help her train.

She is not sleeping as well as she has been. I've read about a 4-month regression, which I hope she grows out of quickly as Mommy & Daddy are very tired. We recently took her to Birmingham for Parrish's dental alumni weekend, and we were to proud of how well she handled the hotel and hustle & bustle that weekend provides. She is a fairly high-maintenance baby, though, so Mommy is worn out most days.

We did start her on rice cereal last week...she's not really a fan at this point but we're going to keep working at it.

We are all ready for spring around here...we don't like staying in the house all day and I know Sylvie would love to stroll around the block. She does love her Baby Bjorn carrier and would stay in it all the time if my back would allow it.

We have a busy few months coming up. My parents are hosting a Sip and See at their home for all their friends to come see Sylvie. Parrish and I are both performing in my woman's club's variety show in March. That will be super fun...if anyone wants to see Parrish dance, come on down!
