Return to normalcy...

Just had to share this photo...when's the last time you got this excited about anything?

It is so nice to get back to normal around the King house...whatever normal is, I guess. I spent all last week laid up, being waited on by my sweet mom, who also took care of Sylvie. It showed me that Sylvie is much more resilient than I thought, and it is ok to let go of the reins once in a while. We had several blessings in disguise, mainly being that Sylvie is no longer scared of grandparents, or anyone for that matter. She learned to trust others...what an early life lesson! This is good news for Parrish and me, as we were getting worried that we'd never be able to go anywhere, ever again. Yay, gallbladder surgery!

Sylvie had her 6-month check up and shots on Wednesday, and was given a clean bill of health. She weighed 13 lbs. 3 oz., was 25 inches long and her head is growing at a normal rate. She has reached all of her developmental milestones, and received 3 shots and an oral vaccine (big cries, followed by exhaustion...this actually led me to stop all pain medication as I thought maybe she was being drugged by breastmilk...not actually the case but when has that stopped me from worrying?). She was a doll at the doctor's office, playing and scooting all over the exam table. She even thought the nurses were there to play...think again, sister.

Your Baby Can Read!
(Maybe not, but she does love to look at books. The chemistry set is next).

We traveled to Fairhope on Saturday for the arts & crafts festival...so fun. Sylvie did so well all day. Not the smartest move after surgery, but I was determined to go!

Sylvie rode with Daddy most of the day (she even took a catnap in this contraption).

This week, we are looking forward to pictures with Vicki and the Easter bunny, the Easter egg hunt on Palm Sunday, and a visit next week from Parrish's mom. We can't believe it's already time for Easter in just 2 weeks!

I'm about to go get my stitches out...wish me luck!

God Bless,
Katie
