The munchkin is really chatting up a storm these days. It's hard to keep up with her new vocabulary...I'm pretty sure she'll wake up shortly and be speaking in sentences. It's freaking me out. She repeats pretty much everything I say or ask her to say, but has several words that she uses on her own. She also knows exactly what I'm saying or ask her to do but follows commands only when she wants to. Her sense of humor is great...she thinks it's hilarious when she gets in trouble and or when I put on a "mad" face.
Her favorite lines are:
Nah.
Hi.
Bye Bye.
Up please.
Help me.
I sit.
You sit.
Thank you.
Amen (she reminds us at every meal that it's time to pray, and then occasionally says amen throughout the day. Should this worry me? Does she know something I don't know that we need to be praying about?).
Uh oh.
Mama. Mama. Mama. Mommy. Mama.
Dada. Dada. Daddy? Dada. Dada.
Moon (points up).
Boon (balloon).
Bubble.
Baby.
Cat.
Puppy.
Mimi.
Nanie/Nana.
Papa.
Cheese.
Out.
Off.
Ho ho (don't ask).
Ho ho ho (not to be confused with the aforementioned, this is said when we see Santa).
Shoe.
Yes (but this is only a nod at this point).
Sshhh (with finger over her mouth).
Height (light...we're working on the "l" sound).
Juice (I gave it to her one stinkin' time and now she requests it constantly, exactly what I didn't want to happen. Argh.)
Wa wa (water).
Boo boo.
Oh.
Cookie.
Ball
Sleep.
Bed.
Hot.
Beep beep (car).
Choo choo (train).
Signs "more/want," "please," and "all done."
When asked, "Who does ______ love?"
Answers, "Me!" and points to herself (thanks JJ for this neat trick).
Animal sounds for tiger, lion, bear (all say grrrr), cow, duck, cat (ow!), dog, owl, elephant (complete with raised arm), bird (peep peep), squirrel, turtle (silent), monkey.
She points to the sky when asked where the moon, sun and stars are; stops dead in her tracks when she hears a helicopter or airplane and points up.
Hugs, kisses, snuggles, gives high five, blows a kiss, waves hi and bye.
Rocks, pats, feeds and covers up her baby doll.
Helps get undressed.
Pours and drinks tea with her tea set.
Puts both fingers up to sing "This Little Light of Mine."
Can identify most body parts:
Head
Hair
Arm
Leg
Foot
Toes
Hand
Fingers
Mouth/tongue/teeth
Face
Neck
Nose
Eyes
Ears
Boobie
Tummy
Bellybutton (uh uh...see Veggietales for explanation)
Ho ho (again, don't ask, that's just what we call it).
Bootie (PS...the munchkin bit me on the bootie the other day as hard as she could. I couldn't help but laugh. I guess I deserved it...it was just lying there on the bed in perfect mouth-to-bootie position. Dear God, please don't let her be a biter).
I know this isn't an exhaustive list but I really don't want to annoy anyone with my child's development. I do want to remember this time, though, and I'm really bad about filling out the baby book. I don't compare the munchkin to any other child, but I am so proud of that little monkey I can hardly stand it. She is a mess.
God Bless and Good Night!
Katie
