...for not writing enough. I'm honestly just enjoying life right now, and although I'll look back and regret not jotting down every minor milestone the munchkin meets (how's that for alliteration, Mom?), there truly are just too many to recount, plus, she really is just growing up like any other 19-month-old. Sure, we think she's super special, advanced, gifted, call it what you will...so I'm hoping that my memory serves me years from now when she asks me what she was like when she was little.
The best thing that's happening is the increase in Sylvie's vocabulary. Not only is it funny to hear her repeat any word you say, but it helps with the day-to-day frustrations of trying to interpret her whines and grunts. She has an excellent grasp on so many words...the other day she pointed at the grass and said "grass." I'm sure this is because I constantly tell our new pet bunny, Pete, to stop eating the grass! She also understands everything I tell her, so even if she can't form a sentence, she can follow directions very well. The funniest things to hear her say are Ernie, powder, water, Porter, Catherine (KA-KEEN!!!), uh-huh, uh-uh, bubbles, eggs, books, Pete...
She also loves to wear lotion (indicating the need for it by rubbing her knees).
She had her first pretend haircut and style at Connie's the other day...after reading a magazine on the couch while I got my bangs trimmed, she readily agreed to her own turn in the chair. She sat veerrry still and let Connie pretend to cut and then actually curl her hair! I think she'll fit right in at the beauty shop.
She also let Parrish "clean" her teeth today at the office while I got a cavity filled. She let him look inside her mouth, brush and floss. Her favorite part, of course, is getting to spit in the sink.
Such a big girl, the highlight of our life. I need to take her to see how much weight she's gained recently...it has to be a lot because she is hard to carry!
I'm hoping to post some really great pictures that Aunt Beth took soon...have to retrieve them off of Papa's computer. She is really good at capturing Sylvie in action.
Happy Spring to you!
God bless,
Katie
