Fast forward...

That's how I feel like I'm living right now.  This fall has been and will continue to be a complete blur, I'm afraid.  Maybe due to a little thing like...WE MOVED.  Yes, that's right, we moved into our new house the last weekend of September.  I saw something shiny and my sweet sugar daddy indulge me, as usual.  Did we sell our other home, you ask?  Why no, why would we let a silly thing like that stand in our way?  Have we actually bought the new house?  Why no, why would we not want to squat in someone else's house for a month?  Can we afford the major renovations we are living in currently?  Why no, but who needs money anyway?  Ramen is cheap and if you don't look at your credit card bill, it's almost like it doesn't exist.  Do we like eating and breathing Sheetrock while questionable men trounce all over my Pottery Barn rug?  Why no, not exactly, but we are doing it with a fake smile on our faces!  I've been told this will all be over by November 14...we shall see.  I'm already lining up a housekeeper to help me deep clean after the dust settles...living in this mess has my Type A personality all in a tizzy.  And by tizzy I mean I'm about to love my ever-loving mind.  I will say I enjoyed the cute high school football players Parrish employed to move our stuff, and surprisingly very little was broken.  Now if he'd only gotten some hot construction workers to fix the house, I might be able to overlook the overwhelming sensation that takes hold of me each morning as my feet hit the floor and stays with me in my dreams (the most recent one was that we were robbed while I napped.  And they were even taking the corn hole boards.  Wow, I need a break).

Through all of this chaos (ie, packing and moving in approximately two weeks after procuring great renters for Diane Drive AND gutting the master bedroom/bathroom and living out of suitcases), we have tried to wrangle some normalcy for the munchkin.  Fall is truly my favorite time of year and I am trying hard to do some special things to commemorate the season.  Stories in pictures follows.

Sylvie celebrated her 4th birthday in Peppa Pig style.  Really cute theme she chose this year!
Nanie always make the day more special, with a sign, gifts and treats.  I really don't think these two could get any closer.  So grateful.
I'm 4!!!
And I'm surprised about it!
Homemade banner from Mommy.
Nana and Sylvie...we had a gorgeous day for a pool party at their house, minus the lovebug infestation.
Gorgeous Anna and precious Baylin.  They made the long trip just for the party.
Trying to teach her cousin how to pose for a photo.  Baylin will soon learn...there are always more than a few cameras in action when there are cute babies around!
Piggy cousins.
Rosie is getting bigger and bigger.  And ornery!  She has found the pond at the new house and comes home smelling like death.  Took me an hour to bathe her the other night and she still stunk.  But, boy, is she happy!
Silly goose had a ball with all the moving chaos...stacks of boxes, packing peanuts and bubble wrap.  And empty baskets are a great way to explore your inner creativity.
Loves playing board games these days, which means so do I.
Precious little dork.
Bella's birthday party, six days after Sylvie's.
Fun trip to the lake for the Ole Miss game.  Cousins stayed home while parents went to a GREAT game.
Love this picture...they really are BFFs.
Lucy's first train ride!
Mom & Dad at the game.  We were so happy to get to go with Carey & Nate.
Mums and pumpkins make any house feel like a home, even if the minute you walk in the front door you feel like you're in a war zone.

Welcome to our new house!  She says it doesn't feel like home, which breaks my heart.  Hoping to make it feel good to her very soon.
Daddy had a birthday!  He wanted yellow cake with chocolate frosting.  Munchkin insisted on AU decorations.  Went all Barefoot Contessa...not so much.  Probably should stick to Duncan Hines from now on.  Wow.
Our favorite county fair came to town!  One night was enough for Mommy.  Honestly, where do these people come from?  I have never seen so many rednecks smoking in line to ride a jalopy with their kids in all my life.  It boggles the mind.

Best buds on the merry-go-round.  This was definitely Bella's speed...you should have seen the look on this child's face on the roller coaster.  Sheer terror.  Hilarious.  Sylvie didn't close her mouth the whole time, loving it.  She is her father's child in so many ways.
Pretty girl.  I rode with her once and almost hurled.  Not for me, thanks.
We got the chance to head north to see friends in Madison, AL.  Sylvie and I had a wonderful girl's day sleeping in, having lunch and shopping.  She is such a good buddy...wish we could spend more time like this together, instead of on such a strict schedule.
Eating sushi for the first time.  "I love the rice!"
Sweet new friend, Lily.
JJ and Ferg got to see the AU/A&M up close.  So fun to watch the Tigers beat the Aggies!  Not sure my dad's ideal outcome, but it sure was ours!
Awesome morning at Tate Farms.  These looked like the BFG's snozzcumbers, so I made her sit on them.  She is so Sophie!
Sylvie really liked these cutout things.  We posed with all of them.  That makes me think...why did they have so many?
Again with the cutouts.
Action shot on the bouncy pillow.
Sweet bunny.
Ginormous tires to climb.
Obligatory hayride to fetch a pumpkin.
I'd pick our Pumpkin Doodle Bird from the patch any day.
Sylvie had her four-year-old checkup, complete with four shots and flu mist.  She weighs a whopping 29 pounds and is 3'2".  That's 10% for weight and 25% for height.  Not too shabby.  Great vision, too.  But I will say it is not fair to have to hold down your child who is smiling over a Popsicle until she is stabbed violently in the legs by two nurses.  Watching her expression change from joy to terror was almost too much for me to handle.  At least we don't have to go back until she's 11, and I think by then they are old enough to take themselves, right?

She says so many funny things I wish I wrote down.  I text most of them to my mom and sister when she says them, but the child keeps me laughing.  The other night, out of the blue, she said, "Maybe one day I'll grow puffy boobies like you have, Mommy."  I don't think I'd describe them as puffy, but at least she has a dream, right?  Her prayers are also precious.  She's venturing out from the rote prayers she has learned and is mainly thankful for food.  It's delicious.

God bless,
Katie
