We traveled to Pensacola to have an upper GI series done for Sylvie's one year check up, requested by her surgeon in Birmingham. I was dreading this day...how fun does not feeding your child accompanied by car travel followed by a two hour procedure involving drinking vile white liquid and being held down by strangers sound? I'll tell you how it sounds...miserable. But of course, Sylvie proved me wrong AGAIN. She did so well. She barely fussed in the car and was quite charming at the hospital until it was time to drink (what would you do? I've had a GI series done and I remember crying while drinking that poo). And even that was better than I thought...we got enough in her tummy to do the test and take all the pictures they needed. The radiologist at Sacred Heart said she is functioning perfectly, and we are relieved to say the least. We'll send the films to her surgeon and hopefully be cleared forever! The staff at the hospital were great, too. We had lunch soon after and then she napped during the ride home, and is now acting as if she spent the day at the spa instead of in a radiological torture chamber. Regardless, we are so happy today that the munchkin is doing well.
PS...Sylvie likes potato soup and strawberries. Just a fun note...I get so excited when she does something that I don't think she'll do.
God Bless!
Katie
