Atlanta Girl's Trip

My sister and I braved a girl's trip to Atlanta this past weekend. She is expecting her second daughter, Lucy, in May and we wanted to spend some time together before the exhaustion and uncertainty of a newborn ensues later this year. Honestly most trips we plan seem to fail or at the very least provide some temporary pain, so I think we were both apprehensive that this one might follow suit and be a miserable few days. I was so happy to be pleasantly surprised. It was SO much fun and I don't think it could have gone any better. We had a ball with Bailey and Sylvie in the big city, enjoying life as tourists. The only bad part was realizing how much fun it would be if we lived in the same town instead of eight hours away from each other. That just plain sucks since the girls have so much fun together and I love my sister! We'll have to do it again when Lucy's a little older...and we may have to add a nanny to the mix when that happens. To say we were tired when we got home would be a considerable understatement.

The best anecdote from the trip...at least for me. My sister was ordering lunch in a cafe while I watched both girls at a table outside. While she was in line she overheard two women gossiping about me. "Do you see that girl outside with the short hair? Poor teen mom." Tsk, tsk. Yeah, you got that right! I'll take their pity cuz it means I look real good for my old age and for having had two small children! I love being misunderstood and it work to my advantage.

Awesome hotel...

Bailey, photographer, Sylvie, subject.

How we ride...

They loved the double stroller...so did my buns up the hill.

Atlanta Aquarium...

What???

Pinky the Penguin, just like Bailey's!

Ready for the dolphin show!

Snack break.

Cousin hug.

The funny thing about this picture is that I'm doing this behind the camera to get them to smile.

Ditto here. They are so crazy.

Dinner at Johnny Rockets. Yeah for milkshakes!

Children's Museum...

Drivin' the truck.

Moon sand, Mommy approved. No mess!

She thinks the tractor's...fun?

Hey Bailey!

Early tonight Sylvie saw this picture and said, "Wook, Bailey's mounting the cow!" She's confused on so many fronts.

Just for Daddy!

Always backwards done the slide but fearless.

So happy to see the Clifford exhibit.

Not happy to actually see Clifford.

Silent ride home...wonder why?

God Bless,
Katie
