Minnie meets the munchkin.

Well, I can't believe the munchkin is still alive and relatively unscathed after living with me for three years!  I say me because of course she's always fine with Parrish, me, not so much.  We had such a fun birthday week with her and I really hope that the memories they are supposed to start retaining at age three have kicked in because I want her to remember this stuff!  I think I'll tell this story in pictures since I have so many good ones thanks to Fergie, Mimi & Aunt Beth.  I planned her party for two months and it flew by, so I had a good time today scrolling through all the photos and enjoying all the things I missed in the chaos that was the event itself.

Homemade invitation.  My cutting is pitiful compared to Parrish's precision.
Treat for friends at Mother's Day Out.
Hungry Caterpillar for hungry Little Friends.
First real mani/pedi in the panda chair.
"Next time you get buttafwy!"
Surprise party waiting for her at
Nanie's house.
Could these two get any cuter?
Cake with three candles to blow out.
How did we get so blessed to have such a sweet Nanie?
Meeting Minnie for the first time...I actually cried I was so excited for her. And for us since we're planning a Disney trip for January and up to this point she's been TERRIFIED of characters.  Can't say I blame her since I still have an unnatural fear of the things myself.  Even Aubie freaks me out.
Pinata booty.
Fergie, Minnie & Munchkin.
Such sweet cousins...Stella was pawing some of Sylvie's loot and Sylvie carefully removed the offending paw
and softly said, "No, no, Stella, go back to your Mommy."
Papa and Minnie...can you tell Sylvie was born during football season?
Guess we'll always have the TV on during her parties.
Giving sugar.
Lacey Jane.
Pull string pinata...Banks was the big winner. I highly recommend this type of pinata...no injuries or Daddy taking out aggression on a Disney character.
Chocolate-covered Oreos meant to look like Minnie but more so like boobs. Darn Pinterest.
What a feast for the birthday girl...the only thing missing was the broccoli!
Awesome Auburn shirts from Aunt Kathy.
Scooter from Nana & Papa.  A hit!
Birthday morning fun.
Chandelier.
Shy at first...
...then running to "hug her leg!"
Aunt Beth and a very happy birthday girl!
Homemade party hats, as requested.
Family with the sweetest Minnie ever (thanks Emily and Meredith's Miracles).

Popcorn and cheese puffs, the munchkin's favorites.
"Let's play!"
Couldn't pull off anything of any magnitude without help from JJ!
Perfect cake from Hart's Grocery.  Delicious and exactly what we ordered!
Blowing out three candles...this took a LOT of encouragement.
Nana & Stella indulging me by wearing a party hat under duress.
"Geen's my favorite and monkeys are my favorite!"
Mimi and the munchkin, ready to party.
Sweet Aunt Anna came to celebrate with us...so glad she got to come!
BFFs.
Minnie and Olivia split the "Samurai Dinner for 2" with their sugar daddy, Parrish.  For real, he ordered filet, shrimp and lobster.  Reminiscent of when
he ordered quail at a Mexican restaurant in
Texas with my parents when we first started dating.

Dinner at Samurai to cap off the week.  Sweet Roxanne (the owner) takes such good care of us, showering Sylvie with a Minnie doll, Barbie doll, necklaces, balloons and a coconut cake!  We are so lucky to have them in Andalusia and they meet our sushi needs almost every Friday night!

So after all that, here was the test.  Sylvie told me earlier in the week that once she was a big girl, she'd sleep all night in her own bed.  When would she be a big girl, you ask?  Age three.  The days passed and true to her word, she continued to cry and get in our bed each night.  Then the big day came, three years old!  Would she do it?  Would she finally get poor Polly the Parrot out of timeout?  Would she stay in her new princess bed with new bedding courtesy of JJ & Ferg?  Would her new butterfly nightlight (thanks, Ollie) do the trick?  Omg, I have a strong willed child because she. did. it.  I woke up to my husband's sweet face instead of my child's sweet knee in my ribs.  We're going on two nights in a row...here's hoping to her keeping her resolution.

So here's to football, friends and fall!  I already have a trip to the pumpkin patch and the FAIR on the calendar!  And we got a frozen yogurt shop where Sylvie thinks the sample is her treat.  Love that.

God Bless,
Katie
