We had a lovely Easter season this year. I think it's my favorite of
the Christian holidays. It's so full of meaning, not to mention it's
just so PRETTY. In every way...the weather, the clothes, the color, the
kids, the symbols, the music.
The Kings kept us busy
with a delicious meal at every turn, thank goodness. I just love being a
guest. It's such a gift to get to show up, stuff yourself and go
home. No muss, no fuss. I know we should at least offer to help, but
that's why we are so blessed and spoiled by our parents. We also got
to try Rosie out with a crowd...she did well by the pool and really
liked playing with (being humped by) Jake, Aunt Beth's dog.
Check out Sylvie's Easter dress. It has to be my favorite...Nana made it and I'd like one for myself, please.
I
was recently hired by our church to be the Children's Coordinator, so
these special events are very important to me. I planned an Easter Egg
Hunt at Springdale for the Saturday before Easter. We had about 35 kids
and their parents and grandparents, which is huge for our church. We
hunted eggs, had snack, attempted a group photo and then had an Easter
parade on riding toys. Precious. Note to self: set a limit on eggs
and candy...we could've treated a third-world country with chocolate.
We
had a baby shower for Anna that afternoon at Springdale as well. It
was lovely and Anna got some things she needed for Baylin, plus some
unsolicited parenting advice. Bless her heart.
Sunday
the choir presented its cantata, as usual. The difference this year was
that the music was so moving for some reason...just a really inspired
service. Our choir director, Paula Sue, is just a special, Godly woman
who I literally would pretty much do anything for and I love her. So
glad she's in my life.
We ended the weekend with an
"adults only" egg hunt with monetary prizes. Love this tradition...oh
please say it's going to be a tradition. Oh, and a jumpy house. Gotta have a jumpy house on Easter.
God Bless,
Katie
