Sylvie is 10 Months Old!

Today Sylvie is 10 months old. She is such a big girl now. She is crawling all over the place (currently she pushes with her right foot and drags her left leg under, or sometimes bear crawls like Parrish did), pulling up on everything and loves to "walk" around the house. She has no teeth yet, but her dentist daddy doesn't mind this at all...less teeth=less cavities! She eats very well and is (I think) weaning herself slowly but surely. She can feed herself small bites of food, but prefers sweets to anything else. You can tell when she doesn't like something and she refuses food when she's full. She's currently a vegetarian, as chicken is gross, apparently. She drinks from a sippy cup or a bottled water...this she loves. She can clap, says da, ba, ma and lots of other babble. She chases the cat, Harry, all over the house, and is particularly good at getting his tail (and yes, he has bitten her twice, but all is fair in love and cat-chasing). She loves to stand up and play at her activity table or ride her lion. She sleeps all night and takes two naps during the day. She smiles and laughs easily at mommy and daddy (we will do ANYTHING for this precious reward). She is working on waving hello and goodbye. She loves to blow raspberries and make a "dragon" nose (mostly during eating...quite funny but messy). She loves books and music, especially songs with a good beat (just like Parrish). She still loves her pacifier, but Parrish says it's going bye-bye at age one (we'll see). She is fairly destructive, and would rather crash her blocks than build with them. She is very "passionate" at times when she doesn't get her way (like if you have to interrupt playtime for a diaper change...watch out, world). Sylvie loves other people and especially children, and will play as long as you will. She is not shy and loves attention, but also will play alone for periods of time. She is considerably smaller than her peers, but is very healthy. She loves to swim...she is an excellent floater and kicks her legs to swim across the pool. She loves her bath and especially her ducks. She has lots of hair and her bald spot is almost gone. She had taken several tumbles but recovers easily when presented with a toy. She isn't a cuddly baby and goes to sleep right after laying her down (no rocking necessary. This is bittersweet to me). She is very good at peek-a-boo and loves any type of blowing air on her face. She throws her pacifier out of the crib most nights (unfortunately on the wall side, causing me to retrieve it each morning). Everything goes into her mouth for a brief taste, even cat hair.

I'm sure I could go on and on about our Sweet Sylvie. I'm sure a lot of people don't care about the ins and outs of our child, but we do! We are so proud and love that we get to spend every day with her. I still can't imagine that in two months she'll have been with us for a year. Life is just too short!

God Bless!
Katie
