Sylvie is doing so well and we are so grateful. She has settled into her new temporary home easily and I love getting to participate more in her care. She is eating great every 3 hours...I got to nurse 3 times today! It was a little rough at first, but we're getting the hang of it and I'm sure it won't be a problem. I absolutely love that time that we get to spend together.
If all goes well tonight, we'll be moving to a private room tomorrow and will spend the weekend getting ready to go home. They are anticipating discharging her on Monday if the surgeons think she's ready. I told them she was an over achiever just like her daddy! At the beginning of this whole ordeal, I never imagined we'd be home so soon and the feeling is just indescribable. We are so blessed.
We are now praying that all will hold steady and that Sylvie will continue to gain weight and eat well over the weekend. She pooped as I changed her diaper this morning, which I take as a very good sign that she is healed and is now like any other baby!
God Bless,
Katie

ReplyDeleteKatie and Parrish, So much congratulations! Welcome to parenthood! Sylvie is absolutely beautiful and Katie you look amazing too. I'm so glad to hear surgery went well and ya'll are ready to go home. It must have been so scary to see your little girl go through surgery, but what a success! Mom and Dad wrote today and saw Sylvie listed in the bulletin at AUMC and I didn't even know you were expecting! So congratulations! Please know we will keep you in our prayers and hope that you all have a very relaxed time at home now with your little girl! Enjoy every minute!
ReplyDeleteMom and Dad send their prayers too! Take care, Brandy Stewart
