I had a welcome surprise as I visited Sylvie bright and early this morning. Her surgeon orderd that they remove the suction tube from her belly, which is what we've been waiting for! If she can keep from spitting up today, they MAY be able to start her on feeds tomorrow. So her new goal is to keep everything down, and the icing on the cake would be a dirty diaper (that's quite an image...ew.) They also removed one her IVs and one of the bili lights. As her bilirubin continues to drop, they will remove the lights and will swaddle her, allowing me to hold her. She has quite a temper and it was so good to hear that squall come out of her little body. Trust me, that's the most beautiful sound in the world.
Our new prayer is that we won't experience any setbacks. As long as we can keep moving forward, we will be fine. She is such a strong baby (gotta be the red hair...feisty!)
I'll keep everyone posted and hopefully get some pictures posted once I figure it out. My tech guru unfortunately lives in Andalusia.
God Bless,
Katie
